Mussaenda glabra, or White Winged Mussaenda makes a bright and cheerful addition in many different applications. Use it to bring almost constant texture and color to boundaries, backgrounds and mixed perennial beds, or use at a seasonal potted accent plant for the porch or patio.

It is considered 'Dwarf' grower by comparison. While it matures as a full, bushy shrub between 3 to 4 feet if left unpruned, most plants in Mussaenda genus grow much larger. White Winged Mussaenda but can be maintained at a lower height if desired. It has bright green pointed- oval foliage, and dense and leafy habit. The flowers are small bright yellow funnels surrounded by a paler butter to creamy white, unusual, long, winged shaped, green veined assymetrical sepals

Care: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil or potting media in full sun to light shade. Water as needed to maintain consistent soil moisture, but avoid overwatering. Overly saturated plants will become spotted, weak, thin, and fail to flower as expected. Feed a good quality, slow-release, bloom-boosting fertilizer with the initial planting and annually in spring thereafter. Prune after flowering to control size, shape.

Indoor Growing: This plant can be grown indoors, however modifications to increase light, temperature and humidity may be necessary for it to produce flowers.

Climate: It is a tropical plant and is recommended for growing in USDA Zones 9, 10, and 11. Protection from cold temperatures is required in all zones for the longest life, best appearance, and earliest flowering. Note that Zone recommendations are based on average temperatures and do not take factors such as humidity, rainfall, or day/night temperature variations into consideration. Every growing environment has unique challenges

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
