Sedum spurium 'Voodoo' or Voodoo Stonecrop is an excellent ground cover choice for a wide variety of climates. It will tolerate diverse conditions from the extreme cold of Zone 3 to tropical heat in Zone 9. This water-wise planting choice grows year round with dark burgundy foliage to form a dense ground cover mat. During Summer, copious clusters of vibrant pink blooms will burst forth to add even more beauty to your planting.

Voodoo Sedum will ideally be planted in a full sun with very well draining soil. It will perform best when treated similarly to a cactus or succulent. To improve overall appearance and survivability, watering should be decreased during winter to protect the succulent from freezing.

As lawn alternatives have become increasingly popular due to water concerns, Sedums have had a chance to step into the spotlight. They will require very little watering and even less maintenance. Never growing more than 6 or 8 inches tall, they will not need to be mowed or trimmed.
