Artemisia 'Powis Castle' is an elegant low growing ornamental plant best known for its light silvery hued foliage and ease of growing. This species is mostly likely a hybrid between Artemisia arborescens and Artemisia absinthium though exact parentage is unknown. This plant is supported by a strong woody stalk as it grows 2 to 3 feet in height. It will spread rhizomatously if left untamed. In 1993, this plant's elegant foliage and easy growing habit earned it the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Artemisia 'Powis Castle' is typically grown as a foliage accent though it does occasionally produce small bright yellow flowers during Fall. This plant's heavily divided, feathery foliage may decline in hot, humid conditions but this can be regulated by decreasing watering. Once established, this plant is considered drought tolerant and will thrive in very well draining poor quality soil. Within the recommended zone range, Artemisia 'Powis Castle' is considered evergreen.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant growing and shipped in a 4 inch diameter plastic pot. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping.
