About Hibiscus rosa seninsis - Yuletide
Hibiscus are attractive tropical shrubs, they have perhaps the largest variation of bloom color as any species, there are literally thousands with new hybrids constantly being introduced. Among the most popular ones are those classed as ''''Exotics''''. This class has larger, fancier flowers than the classic landscape types.
Hibiscus Yuletide is a large fancy deep rose to red single flower with ruffled petal edges in pretty pastel pink, and a deep maroon throat that is so dark it's nearly black. It is another of the lovely exotic hibiscus developed by renowned breeders, Bobby Dupont and Robert Gerlich that have come to be commonly known as Cajun Hibiscus. Historically exotic hibiscus were bred for large, fancy complex flowers with the trade off fussy temperamental plants. However, that was before these talented hybridizers turned their focus in their hibiscus breeding program to not only producing new hybrids with lush, exotic, and unusual flowers, but also tough, resilient, strong growing plants.
Tropical Exotic Hibiscus Yuletide blooms on a full, branching bush with large glossy leaves. The exotics are typically best grown as potted plants. However the Cajuns are tough enough to be planted into the landscape with a little extra attention.
