Seven Sisters Grevillei Climbing Rambler Rose Live Plant Double Pink Spring Bloom Starter Size

Seven Sisters is a beautiful old climbing, or rambling rose that has graced Southern US landscapes and European Gardens for more than 200 years. It was first introduced in Great Britain in 1817 by Charles Greville and is also known as Grevillei. It is a seasonal once-blooming rose that produces numerous large clusters of small, multi-toned pink flowers in late spring to early summer. The name 'Seven Sisters' is derived from the Chinese name describing the multiple changing tones of pink appearing in the buds and flowers as they age.

The flowers are born at the terminal ends of long, arching, thorn-covered canes. While Seven Sisters is not an excessively aggressive grower, it does need a sizeable growing space. At maturity, runners can reach out 15 feet or more fairly quickly. Frequent pruning, especially after flowering, is required to keep it in check. Avoid pruning in the Winter and/or early Spring to avoid reducing bud wood.

Seven Sisters is a very carefree, resilient rose once well established. The plant develops a deep, strong root system and does not require grafting. However, young plants should be protected from weather extremes and from becoming either too dry or too wet.
