The Mrs. Dudley Cross rose is considered a Modern Hybrid Tea Rose even though it was registered and introduced into the commercial market in Australia more than 100 years ago. The rose is known for its beautiful color, fragrant blooms, repeat blooming habit, thornless branches, heat tolerance, manageable size, and overall resilience, so it is right at home alongside older, own-root, antique, old garden roses.

The Mrs. Dudley Cross rose is relatively low-maintenance. It requires little more than well-draining soil, adequate light, and sufficient nutrition to grow and thrive. It is a tough and resilient rose that grows well on its own roots and will self-cure many of the problems common to roses in hot and humid weather, and rarely requires treatment.

It is a reliable and prolific repeat bloomer that produces long-lasting, medium-sized, densely doubled flowers with a classic tea scent. The flowers begin as small, tightly formed classic tea-shaped buds of pale pink that open as a pale creamy, pastel yellow, then blush back pink and darker yellow, finishing as solid carmine rose pink as they age. Plants mature as a full, multi-branched, nearly thornless bush that can reach heights of up to 6 feet but is easily maintained between 3 and 4 feet with minimal pruning.

Condition: One (1) well-rooted, starter-size plant with an approximate 4-inch-diameter root zone. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 12 inches tall and have no blooms or buds on arrival.
