Prom Queen Old Garden Antique Own Root Climbing Rose Double White Repeat Bloomer Starter Sz

Prom Queen TM is an old found rose of unknown origin and parentage. It has a well-behaved, caning, arching habit, and is one of the easiest to grow, and blooms more reliably with the least care of any others that we are familiar with.

Prom Queen is a moderately thorny, but well-behaved, climbing rose that is a perpetual bloomer. It produces heavy clusters of fragrant medium-sized, loose, double blooms almost year-round. Flowers begin as soft blush-pink buds, which evoke memories of vintage Prom corsages from the 50s. The buds slowly unfurl over several days into multiple rows of ruffled, creamy-white petals skirting a soft, butter-yellow eye and short stamens laden with golden yellow to tan pollen.

It is a moderately fast-growing rose that establishes quickly. The branches are long, arching canes that can be trained to a trellis or support. However, Prom Queen develops a strong central trunk and deep roots, and also performs well as a large, free-form sprawling shrub. The plant has an overall high degree of natural resistance and can typically self-cure most common rose issues

Prom Queen has a moderately intense classic tea rose fragrance, with the peak notability early in the day when the flowers first fully open.

We know it to be hardy in Zones 7 to 9.
