Durantas are native to tropical regions of North America and India. It is known by several common names, including Sky Flower, Golden Dew Drop, Pigeon Berry, and Fence Flower.

Duranta repens is a vigorous, upright-growing species that matures as a large, multi-stemmed shrub or can be trained into patio standard form trees.

They are easy to grow, establish quickly, and will tolerate a wide range of conditions, including high heat. This plant was given the Texas A&M University Texas Star (R) designation based on its traits of dependability and ease of care.

The Lavender flowered type is the most common, with pendulant hanging clusters of slightly tubular lavender flowers, followed by long hanging streamers of bright yellow berries. The flowers and berries are a natural food source for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife, but are not edible for humans. Care should be taken not to locate this plant in areas where children or pets might accidentally ingest the berry.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
