Passiflora vitifolia, a/k/a Crimson or Grape Leaf Passion Vine, is a fast, lush, full, aggressive growing tropical-type Passion Vine that can quickly grow runners up to 30 ft long in warm climates. It is a great choice for quick cover.

Blooms begin to appear in the Summer and continue into Fall and are followed by a slow-ripening green fleshed fruit, usually described as tart and strawberry-like when fully ripe. The common name Crimson Grape Leaf relates to the vibrant, orange-tinged red flowers and big, hand-sized, lobed leaves similar to those of grape plants.

The vivid red unique flowers attract pollinators and hummingbirds and are a great nectar source. However, it is not a host plant for caterpillars. Leaves contain natural compounds that discourage insects from feeding.

Plant in fertile, well-draining soil in dappled afternoon shade. Prune often to control size. Plant at least one other passion nearby to aid fruiting.

It may be grown as a pot for some time but will eventually need a very large pot and trellis to accommodate the size and bulk.
