The Moon Flower (Ipomoea alba) is a fast growing tropical vine. It is a quick, aggressive growing vine that begins to flower as soon as the nights get warm. Large, spiral shaped, greenish white buds unfurl at dusk to reveal stunning saucer sized, pure white flowers with an unforgettable fragrance. This lovely nocturnal bloomer is a must in evening or moon gardens.

The flowers are short lived, only lasting for an evening, but blooms continuously throughout the warm season. The Moonflower is a very tender perennial, but is usually grown as an annual in all but very tropical climates. They work well for pots, baskets, climbing up fences and trellises or as ground cover.

They are typically grown by collecting seed and replanting each spring. They can be carried over for several seasons in tropical climates by cutting back after flowering, however reseeding is easier and is the preferred method. Plants begin to decline as night temperatures fall into the 50's.
