Chonemorpha fragrans, or Climbing Frangipani, is a tropical vine that grows very quickly. When this vine's blooms open during summer, they release a heavenly fragrance that can be detected from over 10 ft away. These pinwheel-shaped blooms are shades of white and cream with yellow accents frequently seen in the center of the flower.

This plant will grow best when it is planted near a structure that it may freely climb, such as a fence, trellis, or large tree. To keep the Climbing Frangipani inside a defined area, prune it during the winter months once blooms have expired. For the largest number of blooms, place your Climbing Frangipani in an area where its vines will have adequate exposure to light.

This vine is tropical and thus sensitive to cold temperatures. In a subtropical climate, it will go dormant and lose all of its leaves. Once temperatures warm back up, the Climbing Frangipani will regrow leaves and begin setting more fragrant blooms to open during summer. It still requires cold protection during dormancy.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
