Calatheas are a diverse species of plant that are commonly referred to as 'Prayer Plants'. This unique name comes from their tendency to shift the position of their leaves throughout the day and night in time with their circadian rhythm. Some experts believe this ability allows the plants to follow the sun's movement in the sky for maximum exposure to light.

The Calathea Majestica 'White Star" plant is one of the rarer cultivars in this family, its highly variegated leaves are striped with elegant white segments that break up the vibrant green on its foliage. White Star Calatheas are closely related to the ornata series of Calathea, but are differentiated by their pink hued variegation and magenta undersides on their leaves. The ability to follow light means that this calathea is able to thrive in area with low to medium light. This genus of plants is native to Brazil and has historically been used for a variety of practices.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant growing and shipped in a 4 inch diameter plastic pot. Plant will be a minimum of about 3 to 6 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping.
