Jatropha intergerima Watermelon Pink Dwarf Tropical Tree Shrub Live Plant Peregrina Starter Size 4 Inch Starter Pot

This Pink Dwarf Jatropha is a highly coveted, improved pink cultivar of Jatropha integerrima. It features a darker color and better heat tolerance than other pink types. It blooms nearly year-round in tropical climates with clusters of bright, dark, slightly coral-toned pink, five-petaled flowers. The plant's dense, attractive, glossy, green-to-bronze leaves have an unusual and variable shape, often appearing lobed or even fiddle-shaped.

Dwarf Jatropha performs well as a small patio standard, a poolside feature, a focal point near an entry, or as a transition accent or background in other plantings. It can be grown as a large potted plant indefinitely. However, it is not well-suited for indoor growing, as it grows large and requires more light (4 to 6 hours of a full spectrum daily), higher humidity, and warmer, more varied temperatures than the average indoor space provides.

This is a low-maintenance, easy-to-grow tropical plant that requires no more than basic good plant care to thrive within the recommended USDA growing zones of 9, 10, and 11. Mature plants adapt easily to full sun or partial shade and have moderate water requirements. Monitor for common plant problems and treat appropriately if needed. Cold protection is recommended in all zones for the best overall appearance, longest life, and earliest flowering.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant w/ 4 inch diameter root zone. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping. May be shipped bare, wrapped root ball w/o pot.
