Copper Leaf Acalypha wilkensiana Mardis Gras matures as a low growing semi tropical shrub at about 3 to 3.5 feet. It is a somewhat slower and lower growing cultivar as compared to many others of the species. Copper Leafs are primarily grown and prized for the ease of growing, low maintenance needs and attractive, colored foliage.

The leaves of Mardis Gras are very soft, pastel tones of olive green, bronze, burgundy, and pink, have tight, ruffled,serrated edges, and grow closely spaces along the soft, succulent stems
Color depth and intensity of the leaves is determined by maturity and light. Best color and shape is maintained when plants are pruned lightly and often.

Performs best in very light, dappled shade and can be adapted to grow indoors with adequate light.
