Brugmansias are a large species of tall-growing, semi-tropical, flowering tree-like shrubs that are native to South America. Commonly called Angel's Trumpets, they produce big, scented, hanging, trumpet-shaped flowers several times a year, offering unmatched uniqueness, beauty, and fragrance. Most Brugmansias reach maturity at approximately 10-12 ft with an equal or larger spread.
Angels Goldface is a cubensis hybrid released in 2008 by Anne Kirchner-Abel. It matures a bit smaller than the average, with a mature height of about 6 to 8 feet, depending on climate, has a dense, full, naturally branching habit, and is a profuse and reliable bloomer
Somewhat smaller than average blooms are densely doubled, short-whiskered, with a tightly held recessed face and light, sweet, nighttime fragrance. They open as pale pastel yellow and darken over a week or more to finish in a soft pastel orange hanging at about a 60ยบ angle.
Care: For optimal growth, plant your passion flower in a partial-shade location with fertile, well-draining soil and a trellis or other support. Water deeply, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to avoid spindly growth. Fertilize with a quality, bloom-boosting fertilizer in the spring, and prune as needed after flowering to control size.
Indoor Growing: Brugmansias are not recommended for growing indoors. They require full sun, high temperatures, and high humidity, which makes them unsuitable for indoor growing environments.
Climate: Brugmansias are tropical plants. They are recommended for growing outdoors in USDA Zones 9, 10, and 11. Protection from cold temperatures is required in all zones for the longest life, overall vigor, and earliest flowering.
