COMMON BLUE Passion Flower Vine Passiflora Caerulea Lightly Fragrant Starter Size Live Plant 4 Inch Pot Emerald TM

Passiflora caerulea or Common Blue Passionflower, is semi evergreen, woody, tendriled, and fast growing.

The palmate leaves are made up of five slender lobes. It is perhaps the best known and most common of the Passion Vines. Other common names are Blue Crown, Flower of Five Wounds, Southern Beauty, Wild Apricot, and Jesus Flower.

Although it is called Blue, the petals of the flower are actually a cool, blue toned, creamy white. However the coronal filaments are bright blue. It is generally self pollinating and produces a small, golden, oval, 2 to 3 inch fruit that tastes somewhat like a bland blackberry.

Caerula is a frequent pollen parent choice for hybridizing.
