This cultivar is named Dynamite ( R) is very accurately described by its name. Bred and developed by Dr. Carl Whitcomb in Stillwater Oklahoma, it was the first bright true red to be introduced into the market. The true red flowers begin appearing in late June to early July and continue until the first frost. The bark develops an attractive grey, green peeling texture as the plant matures and ages that makes an attractive and interesting visual display. Mature size is about 20 ft, but it can be kept pruned and maintained at a lower height if desired.

Crapemyrtles are very fast vigorous growers through the spring and summer months, and will establish and gain height, generally several feet per year until reaching maturity. These trees are easily shaped and trimmed and are often seen as mass plantings. They also make a dramatic color statement when mass planted and maintained in a hedge form, which is especially true of those in bright jewel colors like this.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant growing and shipped in a 4 inch diameter plastic pot.
