Elephant Ear is a must have for any collector of tropical hibiscus, or gardener who adores the soft, romantic and elegant, as this hibiscus delivers on all points. It is an old, best loved and prized heirloom hybrid that helped to spark an evolution in what was possible to produce through hybridization.

This old, best loved and prized heirloom hybrid is also known as 'Kona' which is the name it was marketed under in the Pacific Rim in the lat 60s. It produces large, loose, crested, double flowers in soft creamy ivory white with the barest blush of pale pink when the weather is slightly cool. The amazing flowers are borne on a full lush plant with very large, deep glossy green leaves and a suprisingly strong, resilient root system.

The feature that still sets it apart from most Exotic, Fancy types is that it can be grown successfully in the ground in a tropical landscape with good care. It also makes an attractive outdoor potted plant.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
