Brunsfelsia Isola Lady of Hispanola Night Fragrant Pastel Lavender Yellow Flower Starter Size

Brunsfelsia cv Isola is said to be a hybrid from B grandfolia x B Americana (nitida). Its growth habit and appearance are very similar to B Americana (Lady of the Night). It has the same, slow, small compact, lateral growing form, but both leaves and flowers and larger. The flowers are the hallmark long tubule shape and open slowly over several days. Bloom cycles are several weeks long and begin as night time temps increase and days get longer. and continue into the early Fall. The flowers are fragrant, especially at night. The scent is lighter and not quite as sweet as that of either parent, but still very pleasant and attractive to a variety of pollinators

Some references recommend it for Full Sun, however, in our experience it seems to do best in a location that gets bright, indirect cool morning light and but is lightly shaded in the afternoons. It can be planted in the ground and made a permanent part of a tropical landscape or shade garden or it can be grown as a potted plant indefinitely. The lateral somewhat weeping habit works well in hanging basking and footed urn type pots, where some drape of the foliage is preferred.
