Firecracker Fern (Russelia equistiformis) is a unique and interesting plant that is native to Mexico.

It is not a fern, despite the fern like appearance of the lacy, delicate, elongated foliage that is actually a special type of leaf tissue known as a bract.

Firecracker Fern bloom throughout the warm season in fountain like bursts of bright, scarlet red tubules that last for weeks and are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. It has many versatile uses in the sub tropical and tropical landscape and works great for planters, baskets and annual filler in colder regions.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant growing and shipped in a 4 inch diameter plastic pot. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping.
