Ixoras are medium-sized tropical flowering shrubs that are very popular in tropical and semi tropical landscapes. There are more than 400 species of ixora that are mostly native to Asia and China. The number of these species currently in wide landscape use is small. Ixora taiwanensis is a unique species originating in Indonesia. It has become a widely cultivated, interesting and versatile ornamental plant that can be used in many interesting ways to add color and texture.

The leaves are tiny, lance shaped and grow very densely on a small compact bush that will mature at no more than about 2 ½ to 3 feet tall. It is a showy, profuse, repeat bloomer that is covered with medium sized flower heads made up of hundred of tiny star-shaped florets in multiple tones of orange toned scarlet red.

Taiwanensis Ixoras make a great low growing hedge row, accent, or additions to sculpted, layered beds or mixed perennials and can also be grown as a potted plants indefinitely.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
