LOUIS PHILLIPE Rose Bush Plant Old Heirloom Own Root Antique Garden Perpetual Bloom Red Pink Double Starter Size 4 Inch Pot Emerald TM

Louis Philippe is an old, antique, own root, heirloom garden rose named for the 1800s French King. It matures as rounded bush about 3 to 6 feet tall, depending on climate. Flowers are loose doubles colored a deep rose red with a hint of lighter blush pink in the center.  The flowers will frequently have the old China Rose trait of a white stripe through the petals, are moderately fragrant, long lasting and born on stems long enough for nice loose casual cut arrangements.

The popularity of this rose throughout the south in mid 20th Century is no doubt due to how easy and rewarding it is to grow, as it bears flowers profusely and often, with little effort. The bush has is disease resistant and generally self curing.  As with all roses, it will develop some black spot under hot, humid conditions, but generally self cures without chemical assistance. These excellent traits are no doubt the reason Louis Phillipe was selected by Texas A&M for their Earth Kind ™ list of recommended roses.
