Mystery is old heirloom gardenia, and is among the most fragrant and easiest to grow. In semi-tropical to temperate climates, large doubled bloom appear like clock work in the late spring on large, vigorous, bushy growing, long lived bush with dense, dark, glossy green foliage that will easily mature to be 8 to 10 feet tall, with an equal spread. . The classic, fragrant, elegant flowers are excellent choices for corsages, bridal bouquets and as cut flowers.

Mystery has a strong nematode resistant root system, and can often found seemingly growing wild on old abandoned home sites. It has been a favorite hand me down and pass-along plant for generations. It requires little maintenance aside from seasonal pruning and feeding, and roots quite easily. Many may have memories of seeing cuttings rooting in a jar of water on a sunny window sill.

All gardenias are notoriously difficult to grow indoors, so it works best to bring cut flowers inside and leave the bush outdoors.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant w/ 4 inch diameter root zone. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping. May be shipped bare, wrapped root ball w/o pot.
