Experience the vibrant tropics with Codiaeum variegatum 'Zanzibar'! This unique croton captivates with its incredibly thin, shoestring-sized leaves. Native to Southeast Asia's tropical forests, 'Zanzibar' offers a dramatic, exotic tropical look and feel without demanding excessive care and attention.

Unlike larger croton relatives, 'Zanzibar' is a slower-growing, compact variety, maturing at just 2.5 to 3 feet tall. Its manageable size makes it ideal as an indoor houseplant, a striking potted accent for porches and patios, or a colorful addition to smaller garden beds in warm climates. It is a great choice for instant, long lasting Fall Color as the season's change. It is a very low maintenance and easy to care for plant. Just meet its most basic needs and then sit back and enjoy the view.

For the most brilliant coloration, ensure bright, indirect light to partial direct sun for at least 6 hours daily; low light dulls colors. Keep soil consistently moist (not waterlogged) and provide high humidity. Ideal temperatures range from 65-85°F (18-29°C), with humidity in the 60-80% range) Fertilizing once with a high quality slow release fertilizer with the initial planting and once yearly in the Spring is adequate. Prune seasonally and lightly at the terminal ends to encourage new branches and prevent legginess.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
