Durantas are native to tropical regions of North America and India. It is known by several common names, including Sky Flower, Golden Dew Drop, Pigeon Berry and Fence Flower.

Duranta repens is a vigorous, upright growing species that matures as a large, multi stemmed shrub, or can be trained into patio standard form trees. They bloom with pendulant hanging clusters of slightly tubular flowers, followed by long hanging streamers of bright yellow berries. The Lavender flowered type is the most common, with the white being more rare and lesser known. The white is a very profuse and showy bloomer.

They are are easy to grow, establish quickly, and will tolerate a wide range of conditions, including high heat. This plant was given the Texas A&M University Texas Star (R) designation based on their traits of dependability and ease of care.

The flowers and berries are a natural food source for birds, butterflies and other wildlife, but are not edible for humans. Care should be taken to not locate this plant in areas where children or pets might accidentally ingest the berry.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with or without a pot, as appropriate.
