Tabornaemontana divaricata or Pinwheel Jasmine is in the Apocynaceae plant family, and is neither a jasmine, nor a gardenia. The misnaming comes from the similar shaped flowers.

As the common name suggest, Pinwheel Jasmine produces pure white , pinwheel shaped flowers with a brightly contrasted yellow-dot center. Buds begin to appear in abundance in the early Summer and continue to Fall. Generally described as 'lightly fragrant' but individual perceptions vary widely.

The plant easy and rewarding shrub to grow. It has a somewhat unique, open, zig-zagged, lateral branching habit and small, pointed-oval leaves in shiny medium, bright green. It performs best in light shade, prefers slightly acidic, well draining soil, and can be grown as an outdoor potted plant. It has high light needs and does not adapt easily to indoor growing conditions.

Tabornaemontanas are a tropical species recommended for Zones 9, 10, 11. Cold protect is recommended in all Zones for optimal appearance, earliest flowering, and overall good plant health.

Condition: This product is one (1) young, starter-sized plant intended for a gardener to grow to its mature size. You may expect a starter-size plant to be well-rooted, have a root zone of approximately 4 inches in diameter, be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall, and have no blooms or buds on arrival. It may be shipped with
or without a pot, as appropriate.
