The Ebony series of Crepe Myrtles was developed by Cecile Pounders. This group of plants was selected for their disease resistance and dark, non-fading foliage. Crepe Myrtles in the Ebony series have very dark burgundy, almost black foliage that remains colorful through summer.
Ebony Embers has the classic burgundy foliage of the Ebony series and becomes laden the brilliant true red flowers during the summer months.

These interesting colorful trees begin to break their dormancy in the early spring and generally flowers will begin to show as early as May and continue into the early fall. A large cluster of flowers (called a panicle or raceme) develops on the terminal end of each limb and is made up of hundreds of 1/2" flowerettes that have the crinkled consistency of crepe paper. The range of available colors is very broad, white, various shades of pink, purple, and a recently developed true reds There are also bi-colored cultivars and some that change color with age.

Please note this plant does not perform well outside of the recommended Zone Range, or adapt easily to indoor growing conditions.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant with an approxumate 4 inch diameter root zone.
