Calliandra heamatocephylla alba or White Powder Puff Tree is a fast-growing, non-invasive, semi-tropical member of the large Mimososaceae plant family.

It produces prolific white puffball flowers that are very attractive to butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. The unique flowers spring forth in the late Spring to early Summer from unusual buds resembling clusters of berries.

The White Powder Puff Tree matures quickly into a small, multi-branched tree-like shrub nearly as wide as it is tall. In optimum conditions, it can reach up to 15 feet, but it can be maintained at a lower height. Although it is a fast grower, this species takes some time to mature before reaching its full blooming potential.

White Powder Puffs are easy to grow and have many versatile uses within their recommended Zone Range of 8B to 10. They can be mass planted and pruned a tall hedge row to create boundaries of an area or provide privacy, used as background in layered beds, as screens to create shade for sun sensitive plants, or as single specimen accents or focal points.

Condition: .One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant w/ 4 inch diameter root zone. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping. May be shipped bare, wrapped root ball w/o pot.
