Watermelon Red Tuscarora Crape Myrtle a medium sized cultivar, reaching a mature height of about 15' to 20'',  making it a very desirable tree for urban planting, or as a large hedge row, or boundary planting.

The bark of  Watermelon Red Tuscarora Crape Myrtle will develop an attractive grey, green peeling texture as the plant matures and ages that makes an attractive and interesting visual display even when the trees are dormant in the winter.

This Crape Myrtle is a fast vigorous grower through the spring and summer months, and will establish and gain height, generally several feet per year until reaching maturity.  These trees are easily shaped and trimmed and are often seen as mass plantings.  They also make a dramatic color statement when mass planted and maintained in a hedge form.
