The Tibouchina lepidota (alt Andesanthus lepidotus,, commonly known as Ecuador or Adean Princess, or Alstonville matures to be a medium size tree-like shrub. It is covered with single petaled, vibrant, royal purple flowers in the spring and fall, and is one of the more popular and well known cultivars of the more than 450 types of Tibouchina.

The vibrant color and small manageable size make a very nice and versatile plant in tropical landscapes. It is easy to care for and is quick to establish. This variety makes nice potted plants for seasonal color in colder climates. It can be wintered over indoors successfully with full spectrum lighting. Produces little seed and does not spread beyond the intended planting area.

Some species are restricted to some areas. This particular species is not.

Condition: One (1) Well rooted, starter size plant w/ 4 inch diameter root zone. Plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping. May be shipped bare, wrapped root ball w/o pot.
