Crepe Myrtle Cream Puff White Flowering Tree Shrub Live Tree Plant Lightly Fragrant Early Season Bloom Starter Size 4 Inch Pot

Cream Puff produces tight balls of pure white blooms that are lightly fragrant even when few blooms are present. This variety blooms early in the season and can add elegance to the landscape when other Crape Myrtles are not yet blooming. It is downy mildew resistant and was developed in-house from a selected seedling. It is sold exclusively by Emerald Goddess Gardens and is unavailable elsewhere.

Crape Myrtles were introduced into landscape cultivation in the southern United States about 150 years ago. These colorful deciduous trees quickly became very popular additions to southern landscapes. Crepe Myrtle, Crepemyrtle, and Crapemyrtle are alternate spellings. The common name references the crinkled, papery appearance of the flowers.

Plant crape myrtles in a sunny location in well-draining soil. Feed at the beginning of the growing season as plants emerge from dormancy or with the original planting using a high-quality slow-release fertilizer. Prune once yearly for shape in late summer to early Fall after blooming. Avoid pruning in late Fall or Winter as late pruning can reduce bloom the following season. Crape Myrtles are deciduous trees, meaning they drop all the foliage and go fully dormant during the winter. Fertilizer is not needed near or during dormancy as plants cannot uptake nutrients during the dormancy phase.

This plant cannot be shipped to Hawaii.
